Director of Sales – Mid Atlantic

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer

  • Report all significant activity in the region in a timely and accurate manner as it relates to:

    • Ongoing team performance

    • Competitive intelligence

    • Sales strategy development

    • Weekly Sales Forecasts

  • Resolves sales issues in a timely and effective manner

  • Travel within the sales region to maintain, develop, and grow your team and assist in sales efforts.

Direct Sales Force Management:

  • Recruit, hire, and train teams of Clean Energy Advisors

  • Lead, inspire, and motivate your team

  • Establish a daily, weekly, and monthly cadence with your team

  • Analyze your market and create prospecting strategies for your team

  • Successfully build teams across multiple territories

  • Oversee the management, learning, and career development of the sales team

Effective Communication:

  • Clearly communicates in a timely and accurate manner

  • Coordinates sales efforts with Strategic Sales and Marketing team

  • Performs field training in support of their sales teams

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 years sales leadership experience in the clean energy industry or in a related industry is required for this position. Emphasis will be placed on the applicant’s ability to demonstrate experience and accomplishments successfully building and managing direct sales teams.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to demonstrate initiative as it relates to problem solving and implementing corrective action plans on a timely basis.

  • Must demonstrate maturity as a business professional and have the business acumen necessary to be successful in this position

  • Must be able to demonstrate effective selling skills

  • Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with the use of MS Office Suite applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and Google Platform tools

  • Must be able to demonstrate effective time and territory management skills

  • Must possess solid problem-solving skills and the ability to perform gap analyses, action plan development, and effective action plan implementation.

  • Willingness to travel overnight as required by this position

  • Must be willing and able to transport any and all company products required for demonstrations

  • Must be capable of conducting product seminars and product presentations in front of an audience
